Got this Email...
Pastor Scott,
This is a reply I wrote to your March 14, blog. For some reason it didn't go through, and then it seemed like it was to late to post it, but I cant seem to let it go. So here it is.
What do I here God saying to me ?
I just wanted to let you know how much we love being at CIOC, and how much we love all of you.
I know God moved us here. I also know He has an awesome plan for CIOC, and for each person that is part of it. He confirms it over and over. Here is just one example…
Over 2 years ago, God gave me a much needed word. I had just cried out (one of those desperate cries) "God help me hold on, give me something to hold on PLEASE!" Within 30 seconds my phone rang and a dear sister-in-Christ asked how I was doing. I was so upset I couldn't say a thing, I just cried. Her next words were, "Lisa God has a word for you, He says" "Hold on,
HOLD ON! You must endure, for it to come to pass."
Sunday, March 19, near the end of Pastor's message (I don't know if anyone else heard it, but it jumped out at me) Pastor said "It will come to pass, just keep holding on."
I just want to encourage you, God is moving. We can't always see Him, but He is moving. He is putting all the pieces into place, lining everything up, and everyone, for His Glory.
I can see it ……
(my vision)
Like a chessboard, God is setting everything up. Some pieces are even moved off, but if they weren't, the King could not move into His place of Victory. We cannot dwell on those that are gone, we cannot hold on to offense,(that is the enemies plan, to keep us offended, and therefore keep us from all that God wants to do). They served a purpose for Him and then were moved (perhaps for another purpose). God's ways are greater than our ways.
As I look at the other posts, I keep seeing confirmation …..
Angela Thomas said…If we will stand just a little longer …. He is about to show-up and show-out……..If we aren't prepared we will miss out.
LeGrand said …everyone of us is going to be used in a mighty way…..we have to get ready…we have to be prepared…..they are coming……Can anyone get as excited as me?….God is going to use us.
Anonymous said... I'm so excited, I can hardly contain it.
Well, I am excited! Let's Hold On! Let's get ready! Let's be prepared!
God is moving! He is going to use CIOC

Preaching
I am going to shock you today. Have you ever thought about how much preaching makes sense now? I mean many that you hear preach today sound like a spiritual Dr. Phil (Now don't get me wrong I like Dr. Phil). Presenting the Gospel in different ways is GREAT. My problem is that we have failed to realize that preaching, no matter what form it takes, doesn't make much sense. Paul said it in 1 Corth. 1:21 that it is by the foolishness of preaching that many believe. That someone could come and hear another someone talk about the matchless wisdom and thoughts of God and understand it and believe is almost absurd. Yet, every Sunday it happens. Over the past couple of years I have tried about every type of preaching known. I have stood behind the pulpit with a lapel mic...for those of you who know me...that's just not me. I need a hand held. What I have come up with is just prepare, Pray, and present. Let God do the rest. I believe that we must reach this generation. I believe that this generation needs a fresh, new, inovative way of presentation....but at the end of the day let's understand that it has nothing to do with what we do and everything to do with what He has already Done. Let's be thankful that He uses us...even if it is for the Foolishness of Preaching. Later.

Yesterday and this week
I just want to say thank you for all those who have been so positive about yesterday's sermon. We had an AWESOME service and it's because you got involved in worship and in the Word. Thanks.
This coming Sunday night I will be speaking at the Abbeville Church of God. We are starting at 5:30. It's an odd time but the pastor and I are doing a live radio show after service. I would love for everyone who can to come out and let's show them how CIOC does things. Tyra and I love all of you very much. In Wednesday night news...we are starting a Intercessory Prayer Series this Wednesday night. You DO NOT want to miss any of these exciting services. Come and be blessed. Our goal is to try to have a power packed service...this can happen if you come with your praise on.

This made me Laugh!
About 2 weeks ago I made a post about things I hear people say about our church...the next one I am about to write about made me literally LOL (Laugh Out Loud). Someone came up to me a couple of days ago...maybe weeks ago now...and said, 'Someone asked me today about our church. They said, 'don't you go to Scott King's church?' I told them yes. They said, I heard that your church isn't pentecostal anymore. My response was WHAT? They said, 'and I heard all Scott talks about in the pulpit is how sexy his wife is.' I am about to laugh typing this. First of all let me say, Sha Baa Baa...we ARE PENTECOSTAL! We don't allow just anyone to do just anything they want too. I have been in those kind of churches and quite frankly I can't see how God gets any Glory out of Chaos. But....my chaos might be someone else's Breakthrough...so I am not judging. Let me explain. When I first got started in ministry I was in revival at Belton Church of God. One Saturday night 3 people came and sat on the second row of the church. They were speaking in tongues and 'acting Pentecostal.' That night the service was weird and confusing...some of you were there...I found out later that those 3 people were witches...yep you heard me right witches and they came to disrupt what God was doing...and me being naive, I didn't know any better, they looked and acted Pentecostal so, at CIOC we have freedom but we don't allow just anyone to do just anything; also, we are trying to reach un-churched people and you know as well as I do some people don't understand many of the things we do as classical Pentecostals.
Now for the second statement. I am in LOVE with my wife. I love her more now than ever. When you go through what we have been through the past couple of months it draws you closer. I DO believe she is sexy. I don't know that I have said it quite that way from the pulpit but if I had at least I didn't lie. Our church has ALWAYS gone where others have feared to go. Two years ago we had a family therapist come and talk about sex therapy in the Christian home. Before you have a heartattack we didn't do it during regular services we had special services on Friday and Saturday with no one under 18 and not married allowed. It is my believe that Christians should have the greatest marriages in the world. We should have our finances, our families and our sex life better than ANYONE without God. Just my two cents. So, if my thinking my wife is GOOD LOOKING offends you please don't let it. At least it's MY wife and not some other woman. God bless! I hope you are laughing with me. Love you!!

Content but not Satisfied
I am amazed at how many people are simply not happy with their life. (I'm talking about Christians...you know those who are supposed to have life and that more abundantly) I would like to give my two cents worth on this subject...why? you might ask? Well simply because I feel that last couple of months have taught me something. I have found that all I have is TODAY (imagine that...something that Jesus said is really true) All I am promised is the moment in which I am living. Life can change with a phone call, a doctor's visit, or simply a drive to the grocery store. So all you have is right now. We as Christians live in such a vacuum of time that we can't simply enjoy today. We are so concerned with what God has told us about tomorrow, next week, next month, next year...or actually we have no idea when that promise God has given us will come but we are focused on it nonetheless. Now don't go off the deep end on me...I am not saying to give up on the promises of God for your life...they are, according to scripture, Yes and AMEN! What I am suggesting to you is that you simply give that promise to God...and in His time you will have it...Live TODAY! Understand that those things that happen today (good or bad) are preparations for your promise in the future. If you miss today you will not be prepared for tomorrow. In Gen. 24 the servant is going out, at the father's request, to find a bride for His son. Upon coming to a certain place, a young, virgin girl comes out to get some water. The servant had just prayed for this...he asked God to allow the young girl to give him a drink and to also water his camels. What I want you to see is that the young lady, as far as we know, didn't leave her house that morning jumping and dancing, yelling at the top of her lungs about going to meet a man who will bring her into her destiny (although that was God's plan)...no...she was simply doing what she was called to do at that time..GO GET WATER! Not a glamorous job...but it brought her in contact with her future. I want to encourage you today. Maybe you are working in a dead end job (Getting Water) but that dead end job could be your ticket to your future...in fact, if you are a child of God I can promise you that your dead end job is nothing more than a means to an end...don't get discouraged because of it...understand it's role...it was placed there to bring you to your promise. Celebrate it, embrace it...be content (according to Paul, Phil. 4:11) Remember...CONTENT but not SATISFIED!! God Bless!
