Transformation

Transformation….I’ve heard that word before, haven’t you? I know it’s not because I have said it a hundred times during services lately. God has really placed this on my heart and I believe it’s not just another word but one of the greatest needs in the body of Christ. Transformation literally means, A MARK CHANGE. Understand that church is in vogue right now. Mega-Churches are “popping” up everywhere. The question we must ask ourselves are people really being changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said himself that, “I came to give you life.” It’s funny to me that we spend so much time adding Jesus to our life rather than allowing Him to give us life. You might ask yourself, “What’s the difference?” Well, simply put, one God is simply an opinion in your life and the other God is the directive in your life. Ask yourself today, “Do I allow God to direct my life or is what God has to say about an issue simply another opinion that I process on making up my own mind?” The old timers used to say 99% isn’t good enough only 100% will do. To have God totally bless your life you have to give him total control. Don’t miss Wednesday night…it’s going to be “OFF THE CHAIN.”
And tomorrow’s Blog is going to be awesome too!!!

WoW

What a wonderful service yesterday. Truly the presence of the Lord was in the house. Thanks to everyone who pushed beyond yourself to worship God. All it takes is a couple of people who decide to not be denied and God shows up.
Remember to NOT miss Wednesday night. I plan to bring a message on moving from a land of wilderness to a land of promise and provision. If you are interested in meditating on the scripture it will come from Joshua 4. To move from here to there you have to go to Gilgal. Can't wait till Wednesday...I love all of you.

Cool Person of the Week

Ok this week I am going to cheat a little. I can't pick just one person because these two are a team. I want to recognize Kim Harris and Mary Motes (Mo TEZ). These two ladies continually impress me with their willingness to give Saturday's up to visit our outreach families. Every Saturday they get together and drive to the Mount Vernon and Anderson Village. It could be 85 degrees or 105 degrees and they still show up. When we first started the outreach program here at CIOC we were told if you're going to quit don't start. I am so proud that when so many others have quit, Mary and Kim have NOT. They continue to be a blessing to those who have no one.
Mary and Kim, you both will have a special place in heaven for all you do.

Matt 25:40

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Change is good.....Right?

Do you have to continually convince yourself that change it good? I know I do. They say the older you get the harder it is to change...I'm not convinced of that. Problem is change is all around us. No matter what you are involved in or what you do...It will change. Change is scary though. When you change you are not promised the outcome. Change brings with it a thought of, "what if this doesn't work out?" But, to NOT change, brings about certain death. Things that don't change die. Why? Because change is GOOD! We live in a society that change happens at a much more rapid pace than it used too. People used to get a job and stay for years till time to retire....Now people get a job only to change jobs within 5 years. Think about it...How many times did you changed your major (provided you went to college) or how many times you change your mind in a day. Change is inevitable...Our response is a choice.

Why are we so miserable?

Have you ever just sit around and listened to people? I did the other day. I was sitting in a restaurant and just listened to people. You know what I found out? People, for the most part, are miserable. Everyone was either talking about how bad things are or about someone else's calamity. I have come to find out life is hard. God never said it wouldn't be. In fact in John 16:33 Jesus said that in this world you will have trouble. Why do we have such a fascination with misery? Well for one misery loves company. It's hard to find genuinely happy people. Second, the road of misery is easier than happiness. This is simply because there are more people on the road of misery. The road of misery has greater momentum. Third, to be happy takes discipline and hard work. To get anything moving in an opposite direction you have to work hard. The good news is if you can get your life moving in a more positive direction at some point it will begin to push you. You will find it hard to turn back. Let me encourage you today to not try to change everything at once. Simply start with Matt. 6:33, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be given to you." If you start at the right place you are bound to end up in the right place. May God bless you today!! This is a GREAT DAY in God!

Tomorrow Night

Ladies and Gentlemen...I can't wait till Wednesday night. God is moving in such a real way at CIOC and I am so excited. Several have asked that I give them a "heads up" on scripture that I am going to use so here goes. Take this scripture and meditate on it:

1 Cor 15:33

33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."
NIV

The Bible continually speaks about our character and our witness. We must understand that we will become what we hang around. If you hang around negative people you too will be negative...if oyu hang around sick people you too will be sick. I, personally, prefer to hang around positive and healthy people. I have found out it is still true, "Misery loves Company." Don't miss Wednesday night and Hey how 'bout bringing a friend...it's great music and great preaching and the friendliest people you will EVER find. P.S. If you are reading this, how about letting me know what you think @ PastorScottKing@aol.com

Hello Blog World

Today was an interesting day. Tyra was off work and she and I with come help went to the children's church to try and finish up the remodeling. As we worked there was a knock on the back door. I went to the door and an older man was standing there and asked if we would sell him our water fountain. (many might not know this but about 2 years ago we were given an almost new water fountain. We haven't had anywhere to put it so during our work time today we set it outside.) I told him I haven't thought about it but would LOVE to have it installed in our children's church. He said, "Church, this is a church?" I said yes and told him about our church and how we were renting here for a while. He said let me take a look at your building. I did so and began to tell him about how on the left hand wall I thought there were some water pipes and stuff in the wall. Well he told me, "I can install this for you because I am an insured plumber." I couldn't believe it, but hey...we are walking in favor. I asked him how much it would cost to have it installed? He said can you wait till tomorrow? Well of course I can...I've had this thing for 2 years so what's another day? He told me that he would come back in the morning and install it for FREE....you heard, well read right...FREEEEEEEEEE! Ain't God GOOD?!?!?! Well I told you this for one simple reason...to encourage you to believe God for favor in your life. Remember JABEZ!!!!

1 Chron 4:10
"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.
NIV

Cool Person of the Week

I saw this on another site and thought it a great idea to start here. I will try to do one a week or one every two...so here goes
Cool Person of the Week
Floyd Hopkins
Floyd Hopkins has worked many evenings helping to get the children's church ready. Many nights he worked and then went to work on 3rd shift. He has tirelessly put up with Tyra and I changing our minds and still continued to work with us.
Thank you Floyd Hopkins for all your hard work.

Who will be next? Find out next week on Cool Person of the Week.

My Cool Person of the Week

Hey guys,
I saw this on another site and thought I would do it. I will call it the cool person of the week but I might not do it every week. The reason is with our church it wouldn't take me but a small time to get through the church. I will however try to do one every week or two. So here goes...
My cool person of the week is Floyd Hopkins. Floyd has really went above and beyond the call of duty on the children's church. I know many of you have not seen it yet but I promise you it is AWESOME. He has worked many nights before going to work on 3rd shift. He has tirelessly put up with Tyra and I changing our minds and still keeping a GREAT attitude about do ing the work.
Thank you Floyd for all your work and help.

It's Harder at First....but Hang On

Yesterday I was thinking about how hard it is to start something. So many people never exercise because it's so hard to start. Some never go to church because they can't get up that first Sunday morning. Have you ever had to push a car? My dad being a used car salesman I have had to push my share. If you have, you know that at first it seems impossible to push that car anywhere. But, as you and your friends start pushing each step gets easier. Before you know it it almost seems as if the car is moving on it's own. Let me encourage you today that no matter what you are struggling with starting...just start. At first it's hard but before you know it you will be cruising along.

Strong till the End

1 Corth. 1:8-9 8 He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. Have you ever noticed that things are always hard at first? The problem is so many of us never mature to the level of understanding that a moment in time is not our life. (We get a divorce, so therefore we are a divorcee.) The reality is that an event doesn't determine our future. What determines our future are those things that we consistently do. If we consistently sin, we are a sinner. If we consistently drink, we are an alcoholic. If we consistently do drugs we are a drug addict. The point I am trying to make is we are what we consistently do. Paul said that God will keep us strong to the end. That's what we must focus on. When you focus on God you are strong till the end. The end of what you might ask. Well that depends on what you are facing today. If you are facing temptation...Then you will be strong till the end of the temptation. Are you having a bad day? Then God will be your strength till the end of the day. No matter what you are facing today...God will keep you strong.

Tonight at Church

Let me just say Pastor Paul Dyar preached a Rhema Word tonight. Using Luke 15 and the woman who lost the coin he showed all of us the importance of making sure we search for things we have lost.He brought out the fact that she was a woman in her own house and how we sometimes lose things in our own house. She had 10 coins...10 meaning the number of completion...she lost one..You must: I. Light a Lamp-use the Word of God to help you find what you have lost II. Sweep the house-clean things out of your life that keep you from His presence. III. Search-The Bible says you will find Him when you search for Him with your WHOLE heart. Thanks Pastor Paul for your Word from the Lord.

Today was an Awesome day in the Lord

Pastor Scott King
Today was a busy, awesome day. First we (Tyra and I) started with meeting a guy on our land. This guy is working with us concerning grading our property. We need prayer from everyone concerning this grading of land. This could seriously save us thousands of dollars.
How many of you were there Sunday Morning? It was GREAT wasn't it?!? We are truly on a move for God. Keep praying and believing God for great things here at CIOC. Pastor Paul Dyar will be with us Wednesday night....don't miss it. Also, don't miss everything this weekend!! It will be a great weekend to get "recharged."
If you are interested in keeping up with Vince Hungate (where we were Saturday)....goto www.e2lonline.org
it's awesome.

Encourage Yourself

We live in a world of what I call "I need." We are consumed with what we need and from who. The greater of the two is from who. In 1 Samuel 30:6 the word teaches that David encouraged himself in the Lord. Having lost everything to the Amalekites now his army was talking of turning against him and killing him. But David encouraged (strengthened) himself in the Lord. Today if you are down and feel like nothing is going your way...encourage yourself. Don't wait till your favorite preacher comes on TV or till someone calls you with a encouraging word....the Bible teaches that we can encourage ourselves. Then we are better able to encourage others.

Dedicated to Ralph Moore

Today was a sad day for me. Many of us said good-bye to a friend, Ralph Moore. Ralph and his wife Betty have supported Tyra and I for years. Ralph was truly a Prince of a Man. We will miss you Ralph but we WILL see you soon.

Where are you...

It's amazing how many people are trying to go somewhere in life. Recently I was in a mall out of town. Have you ever seen one of those directories in the middle? I was trying to find my way to a couple of stores just to chill out and look around. I came up to a directory and noticed something about where I was going...you can't figure out where you are going until you KNOW where you are. I began to understand that the reason the sign says, "You Are Here" and then points is you have no idea which direction you are going until you know where you are. In Genesis 3:9 God asks Adam, "Where are you?" I have never thought of it but Adam realizing where he was helps to understand where he is going...whether good or bad. Do you know where you are today? Find that and you will find where you are going.

My First Day

Today is my first blog day. I really have no idea what a blog is except everyone in the cyber world is doing it. So I feel that it is my time to join the world of bloggers. Hello Blogger World, my name is Scott King.
