What is Going on?

Today was a day of complete surprises. I received another call from the engineer that we are using. He called and said that a bulldozer was needed at the bottom of our land because he is unable to get to the places needed for the rest of the survey. I was thinking, "Oh my goodness how much is that going to cost?" Having some guys that know a little about issues like that I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. The next thing out of his mouth completely caught me off guard. He said I have a man who can get there today if you ok it. He said this guy would do it for the cost of gas and a tax receipt. I am speechless at this point. We are going to get a couple of thousand dollars of work done for like $200.00. God is amazing! Keep praying!

Wondering if you Knew

I was wondering if you knew we had a CIOC online community? I have seen where some of you have started blogging and I love that about you guys! Now we can take it another step. Go to our website and click on the prayer/praise button. This will take you to the CIOC Community Board. Here we can post prayer requests, prayers, comments, questions and even have theological discussions. Let's start that board back up. It's easy to have a screen name and talk back and forth...this way we can all blog and still talk to one another instead of always commenting on blogs. You can talk and say it once to everyone. You can edit your post and do many other things. Whatcha think??

A Little More about the Building

Some have asked me some specifics about the building we are looking at. Here is what I know...it is a 100x50 metal building. It is what they call a 20-24 pitch roof. That means at the walls it's 20 feet high and at the center it's 24...that should make Mike happy because he didn't want a flat roof. It has a glass facade front and it in great shape. We will get the building at about a 1/10 of the original price. We will then have to have a concrete slab poured and other issues but isn't it amazing to know that God is laying it on the hearts of people from other cities and states to bless us. To God be the GLORY!!

Finally.....Cool Person of the Week

I know you have been wondering where has Pastor’s Cool Person of the Week been? After the last I thought I needed a break...WOW...We are having a BABY!!!Your wait is over. This week I have three people I want to recognize as COOL PEOPLE. They are Larry McAbee, Larry Martin, and Mike Hill. These three men went with me to Lake Charles, LA to the LeBleu Lighthouse Church of God to help rebuild from Hurricane Rita. These men left family and jobs to show the love of Christ to a pastor, wife, and church family.
They did this without complaining! Together with a group from New Covenant Church of God 8 men took the back of the church used for ministry to youth and rebuilt it. The storm had taken parts of the roof off and mold and mildew was on the walls. We spent over $3,000.00 in materials and literally done over $10,000.00 in work. Each of them work well over 10 hours a day and didn’t do anything but minister to this church family. I was truly amazed at everyone coming and working. To God be the GLORY! I recognize Larry, Larry, and Mike. You guys ROCK!

WoW and again I say WOW!

If you were not in service this morning all I can say is you missed it. From Peggy Hill giving her testimony to Pastor Wally taking us into the presence of God, it was awesome. I received a call from my dad and he simply said, "Can I ask you something? Do you feel that our church went to a new level today?" Before I could get an answer out of my mouth he continued, "I really feel that we went to another level this morning." I must say a BIG AMEN to that one.
I hope that everyone is feeling this awesome presence of God in our services. A couple of people have asked me why this is and I feel that it is simply the fact that we are more unified now than ever. We are all wanting the same thing and we are all seeking God. Whether through our Bible in 90 days or simply in our own time with God all of us are going after God. Several are fasting and still many others are praying more. All of these will cause God to show up in our lives and if God shows up in our lives He shows up in our services. Take care and read, pray, and fast.

Hey EveryBody

If you keep up regularly with my blog you know that I have been slack concerning the blog. This hasn't been intentional just simply running around doing stuff. Now I know that GREAT LEADERS don't make excuses so this is NOT an excuse just a reason.
If you are not attending our church you are missing it. By missing it, I mean, you are missing an exciting time with God and God's GREAT people. Also, you are missing our Bible 90! 16+ people have committed to reading the Bible from cover to cover in just 90 days. Well actually it's only 83 but who's counting. I know that there is a program coming out in a couple of weeks with the same journey but we decided to opt out of buying a $100 plan and simply read the Bible...so Reese's to everyone keeping up with their reading.
Second, we are leaving today for Lake Charles, LA to help a fellow pastor clean up and repair his church. Remember Matt. 25:40? Well we are remembering those who need help. So....if you are reading this STOP NOW (well not RIGHT NOW) and pray for Mike Hill, Larry McAbee, Larry Martin, and myself as well as a group from New Covenenat Church of God in Charleston, SC.
Thanks for all your prayers....I too am excited about God MOVING in our MIDST....COME ON GOD!! We are CIOC are ready! Can I get an AMEN?!

Hey Everyone

Just wanted to send a quick note to say what an awesome day we had yesterday. Russell and I are working on a way to put up a short movie of the drama. I haven't done a cool person of the week in 2 weeks so later this afternoon I will be posting my cool person of the past 2 weeks :o). Know that Tyra and I love you all so much. If you get a chance send Brandi Elrod a quick note to let her know how much you appreciate the drama team.
