March Madness

I know many of you are thinking basketball about right now...that's not really what I had in mind. March for Tyra and I is going to be crazy. This Saturday (March 3rd) we are having our baby shower. We opted, with the help of a LOT of people, to have only one baby shower. It's this Saturday so I am working hard to get the baby room painted and ready. Next week will be a week of putting the final touches on the baby room. (Remember the Dr. told us to be ready anytime after week 39...this is week 31...WoW. The next Saturday (March 10th) I leave for Mt. Vernon, IL to preach in a district meeting. I will be there till Saturday March 17th....I will be home for a week then I leave for a short revival in Fayette, AL. The reason I am sharing all of this is to ask for your prayer. Please pray that god moves mightly in these services. Also, pray for Tyra...I really pray that this baby doesn't come while I am out of town. Thanks for reading!

Ok...Back in Town now

Tyra and I just got back into A-town today. We have been on the move the last couple of weeks and it's just going to be so busy the next few weeks. I am loving what God is doing in our lives. Today we met with some people about the new church plans and like most all building projects things seem to get bogged down...I looked at Tyra and said, "Hey, I'm just gonna throw up my hands and enjoy the ride." God has a crazy way of doing things. I know the scripture that is running through your mind right now is the one about His ways are higher than ours...I know...I have to continue to remind myself of that one. All I can tell you (because you all know how honest I am) is that this past year has been the hardest year of my life. 2006 began with Tyra and I losing Judah our son. Nothing (and I am not asking for anything to compare it too) is as bad as having to say goodbye to a child. It gave me a new found respect for my parents who lost my brother in '93. Quite honestly, I haven't really been engaged in life. Now I am not saying that I am back 100%...it still hurts and some days are worse than others. But, I have found that I have more compasion on those who have kids. Today we were walking out of the Dr's office and I heard the nurse say to a couple with a child in hand...I will see you over at the hospital...we rode the elevator down with them and I just bowed my head and prayed...I saw the mother crying and it just simply broke my heart. Tyra and I were both silent for a while...just praying for that child. I want to personally thank all those who have stuck by us through this past year. These past few months have been very hard for us. Just today they have given us hope that this child we are expecting is going to be ok...if anything happens now the child can be saved. For the first time in a year Tyra and I began to breathe. Those who have prayed....those who have suffered along side us and those who simply understood this long process for us....THANK YOU. More later...

Marriage Retreat 2007

All right everybody...Tyra and I are in Asheville getting everything prepared for our 2007 CIOC Marriage Retreat. We have Roger and Pam Childers coming again this year and its going to be AWESOME! We have 13 couples coming in on Thursday. On Friday we are all going to Fun Depot for a time of being a kid again. If you haven't ever been on one of our retreats...you need to make plans now for next year.

Wow Only about 10 weeks left

Ok...so Tyra and I are at the Dr's yesterday and I had another moment. A nurse came in and said 28 weeks...only 10 or so more weeks. That's when it hit me...I only have 10 weeks to get the nursery ready (anyone up for painting?). Wow I'm going to be a daddy. Last night I sat on the floor while Tyra was on the couch and watched as he just kicked and felt as he just tumbled around. I wonder a lot of times what he must be thinking. Please continue to pray for us. We love all of you. (I posted this on Tuesday but it didn't make it to the blog world.)
