Childish Things

Several has asked me about notes to today's sermon...well if you will allow me to cheat...I will post them for my Sunday BLOG. Here Goes:


Childish Things

I. Self-Centered
a. I Complex
i. I don’t feel good
ii. I don’t like that
iii. I, I, I
b. Only One
i. Why don’t Pastor call me?
ii. Why don’t I have more time with leadership
iii. Doesn’t he know that I am hurting?
iv. Doesn’t he know that I am not happy?
c. Don’t Play well with Others
i. They want to be alone or with pastor
ii. They don’t like team ministry
iii. They don’t want to be involved with anything they are not in control of
d. Selfish
i. This is my ministry
ii. This is my area
iii. Nobody can come in this circle
1. This is MINE
e. Attention
i. Move from place to place to find attention

II. Boundaries
a. Play Pen
b. Room
c. Yard
i. Don’t go in that road
d. Their Vision is limited by boundaries so their small place has to be busy to create a sense of a LARGE vision
III. Entertained
a. Always doing something
i. Meditation
1. No DOWN time
ii. Patience
iii. I want what I want and I want it NOW
1. Their Prayer: Lord give me patience GIVE IT TO ME NOW
b. Movement
i. They like a lot of movement
1. Now Im not talking about not working…Im talking about those who work because they don’t want to face self.
c. Motion
i. They want services that are energetic but don’t want to do anything to get the service to that point.
d. You show me somebody who is always moving and pushing to move; I’ll show you someone who is spiritually immature.
i. I’m not talking about someone who is lazy
e. Lack of Discipline
i. Can’t hear something and do it…they have to be checked in on.

**Great men and women of God are never in a rush…You see them out and it’s almost like they are in slow motion; busy yes, but never in a GREAT hurry…WHY?
They are in control
