The Fear of God

Where is the fear of God? As soon as I say this I will be labeled by some as "clothes-line", "holiness", or even maybe a strict preacher. I am sorry that you might label me that way. My only concern is what we are producing in our churches. Let me explain. I was recently reading some blogs. Now mind you I don't know some of these people personally I simply search for those who have ministry, church, bible and things like that in their profile. What I found shocked me! The ones that bashed ministry, church, God, and the like didn't shock me much at all. Those who affirmed a relationship with God encouraged me. The shock came when I read some (well actually several) that spoke about going into ministry in one entry only to talk about partying, drinking, and other things they were going to do that weekend in the next blog. This utterly shocked me. Now before you email me with comments such as, Scott we can't judge them, let's read a few scripture together.
James 3:1
3:1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I want to encourage this next generation! I also want them to know that God is serious about HIS work. He is SERIOUS about those who profess HIS NAME and live a different way. Let's not judge without giving hope...but also let's not give hope without speaking of the seriousness of God.
Paul said this, Acts 20:27

27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

God wants us to accept people...to help people...but to also disciple people and part of discipleship is DISCIPLINE. Discipline to do our BEST to live a life pleasing to God. Thanks for listening or should I say Reading.
