Telling God what to do.

Growing up with two siblings I was told what to do an awful lot. My brother Don and my sister Rhonda would always boss me around. I would always answer, "You can't tell me what to do!"
This morning as I was praying I felt God ask me, "Why do you keep telling me what to do?" I was blown away...when do I tell God what to do? Then it hit me...I tell God what to do everytime I hear His voice and I don't do what He is telling me to do. I in essence, tell God to change His mind to conform to mine instead of me changing my mind to conform to His. We must understand that God KNOWS best. When we trust Him with our whole life He will map out a perfect plan for our lives. We must understand a perfect life isn't one without heartache. Andre Crouch sang one time, "I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He brought me through. For if I'd never had a problem, I wouldn't know God could solve them, I'd never know what faith in God could do." You see many times it is our problems SOLVED that gives us faith to face tomorrow.
